Greetings to All NCTMA Members, Prospective Members and Guests!
I am very excited to begin our 2010-2011 program year! As we open registration for this year, I hope that everyone has had an exciting (although HOT) summer, thus far. With the fall comes cooler weather and the commencement of our program year. We have some great locations on the schedule this year, including a brand new venue as well as some old favorites. Our speakers and topics will be fresh and educational. Additionally, we want to put an added focus on increasing membership this year by sponsoring two membership drives.
Registration is now open for the 2010-2011 program year. I encourage you to renew your membership or join as a new member today, by enrolling online at http://www.nctma.org. The cost of an NCTMA membership continues to be an exceptional value. All meetings are designed to offer an opportunity for networking and to earn continuing education credits (both CTP and CPE). Because of revenue generated from sponsorships and the annual conference, the annual membership fee remains at $170. This membership fee covers admission to the September mini conference and the four workshops and dinner meetings held during the year. The membership fee also provides for a substantial discount on the Cash Adventure Conference held at Kingston Plantation. The invited guest fees for non-members will again be $100 for the September mini conference, and $40 for the dinner meetings. Please note, if you are a member of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP), the AFP membership fee is to be paid directly to AFP. Being a member of the AFP is not a prerequisite for joining the NCTMA.
North Carolina’s Treasury Management Association is unique relative to other regional AFP associations, in that we pull members from throughout the state. Most other regional organizations are able to support their membership, and hence, their association, by pulling members from a single city. This unique situation allows the NCTMA to have meetings all across the state. As in the past, we will begin this year with the Tee-Off meeting in Greensboro. This mini educational conference will be held at The Grandover Resort on September 16-17. There will be four additional dinner meetings during the year at various locations across the state. The program year will conclude with the annual Carolinas Cash Adventure Conference, which is a joint conference of the NCTMA and the South Carolina Association for Financial Professionals (SCAFP). The joint conference, to be held in Myrtle Beach, has been recognized as one of the most well-attended regional treasury management conferences in the country.
Mark your calendar now with the year’s program schedule:
•· September 16-17, 2010 The Grandover Resort, Greensboro
•· October 26, 2010 NASCAR Hall of Fame, Charlotte (MEMBERSHIP DRIVE)
•· December 9 2010 Carolina Inn, Chapel Hill
•· February 10, 2011 Cardinal Club, Raleigh (MEMBERSHIP DRIVE)
•· March 8, 2011 Federal Reserve, Charlotte
•· May 15-18, 2011 Kingston Plantation, Myrtle Beach
We have a great lineup of topics and speakers to go along with the outstanding venues. As mentioned previously, we plan to have two Membership Drives this year. I want to emphasize the importance of growing membership. In order to maintain and grow, the organization has to continue to bring in new members. I implore each of you to bring someone new to join NCTMA this year.
Please contact one of our officers or send an email to info@nctma.org if you would like to volunteer at some level. You are the reason NCTMA has been able to make progress every year and become an example for many other regional treasury associations to follow. I am proud to have this opportunity to serve as your President and look forward to seeing you at the Tee-Off meeting in Greensboro. Please call me at (704) 758-3376, or email me at garry.cutright@lowes.com with any questions or concerns.
Regards,
Garry Cutright
NCTMA President
